The City of East Grand Forks is following its plan to control spring flooding. Residents should be assured that all efforts are being taken to protect the City from high water in the Red Lake River and the Red River of the North.
Some preparations currently taking place:
*The City of East Grand Forks flood protection system has been certified by the US Army Corps of Engineers up to a river stage of approximately 60 feet, well above the current forecasted crest.
*The City is communicating with the US Army Corps of Engineers as well as state and national officials on a regular basis regarding the potential flood event.
*The City is continuously monitoring river conditions and receives regular updates from the National Weather Service related to flood outlooks.
*The City has procured the necessary supplies and materials for flood protection.
Flood Web Cam
The City Water and Light Department has set up a Flood Webcam overlooking the Red River from downtown East Grand Forks.
