Part of River Road will be Closed for a Mill & Overlay Project Starting Tentatively on Sept 28th

A section of River Road NW from 17th Street NW down to the on-ramp to Highway 2 will be closed starting tentatively on Tuesday, September 28th for a mill and overlay project. This project is expected to last approximately three days.

Fall Clean-Up Week will be October 4th-8th & Hazardous Waste/Electronic Drop Off will be October 9th

Fall clean-up will be held the week of October 4th through the 8th on your regularly scheduled garbage pickup day. Hazardous waste and electronic drop off will be held on Saturday, October 9th from 9am to 3pm at Public Works located at 1001 2nd St NE.

Reminder glass and construction debris will not be accepted for berm pick up during clean-up week.  Please call Public Works with questions at (218) 773-1313.

Request for Public Input on Updates to Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

Polk County Office of Emergency Management is working on updating the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan assesses the natural hazards that pose risk to the County and identifies ways to minimize the damage of future events.

This plan will be updated by a planning team of representatives from the County, local municipalities, school districts, and other key stakeholders.  Hazard mitigation helps to break the cycle of damage and repair caused by things like flooding, ...

Highway 2 Road Improvement Project Starting July 12th

Starting Monday, July 12th the westbound lanes of Highway 2 from Fisher to East Grand Forks will be resurfaced along with improvements to turn lanes and intersections. Motorists can expect lane closures and head to head traffic.

The project is expected to last through October of 2021, weather permitting.  Visit the project website for more information or www.511mn.org for up to date information.
