General Information

The Economic Development Authority (EDA) is a multi-faceted community development agency for the City of East Grand Forks.

The City has always been very actively involved with projects that assisted business and industry in shaping our community. Under the leadership of the EDA Board, Mayor, and City Council, our office continues with that mission.

To complement our business and industry programs, we also offer several programs to encourage residential new construction. The New Construction Tax Rebate Program and the New Construction Landscaping Grant (PDF) are examples of the City’s eagerness to enhance community growth and quality of life.

Check out the Cost of Housing Comparison (PDF) between Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

For existing residential homes, we have a Down Payment Assistance Program to assist qualified buyers in their purchase. For more information, view Down Payment Assistance Program Guidelines (PDF) and Down Payment Assistance Program Application (PDF).

City Lot Sales

The City has lots for sale in the Waters Edge and Coulee View Additions. Prices and other information about the lots can be found on the links located on the left hand side of this page. For more information or to see if a lot is still available please contact the Economic Development Director.

Please note that the City Council has authorized a $3000 additional charge to cover the realtor's commission when the sale comes to the City via a realtor and requires the payment of a commission.
